Zofran is an effective drug which is used to cure post
chemotherapeutic nausea and vomiting. There are present several
pharmaceutical giants in the market today which are manufacturing
this drug. Among the whole bunch to list here are few: Teva
Pharmaceuticals, Baxter Healthcare and Kali Laboratories. Now as the
patent for this drug has expired in the year 2006 which thus
increases the chances that it will be produced now as generic drug.
Being labeled as generic now it is feasible for more pharmaceutical
companies to produces the generic drug Ondansetron. Ondansetron at
present is available in three different variants: one is in the form
of oral pill, other in the form of orally disintegrating pallets
which gets disintegrated with the action of saliva which is present
in mouth and the third one in the form of solution. At present
Ondansetron which is sold under brand name Zofran is available in
different form of pills present in varying concentrations varying
from 4 mg to 8 mg. The first manufacturer to produce zofran was
GlaxoSmithKline which also acquired patent for Ondansetron.
Many companies are producing zofran under different brand names. To

present in china, Zunis Life sciences Pvt. Ltd. Located in India,
and Qufu Hong Chemical Industry Co., Limited also located in China.
